Michael De Bruin is organising this fundraiser. During a visit to see his grandchildren in Australia, Ad de Bruin was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma, an extremely aggressive tumor in the brain. As a result he has had to have an emergency lobectomy for a partial resection of the mass. Sadly, the prognosis is that the rest of the remaining tumor is not operable and any medical treatments are so far falling short. We are continuing to look for other solutions, going through difficult decisions on where and how to continue to care for him. Transport for Ad to go back to Slovakia is going to cost a minimum of $40,000 AUD with a medical escort. In addition to this we have other flights, living costs and various other expenses that are being incurred due to the nature of the situation. All funds will go towards covering these costs.
