The cross changes everything

Sometimes as Christians, we can live a life as though nothing has changed. Many Christians still view life as they did from their previous experience as a non-believer? Friends, do you realise that the cross has changed everything? This realisation will transform the way you see the world. The world seen through the cross changes everything.

Let us no longer live as though we are bound and in darkness. Let us no longer live as though there is no hope. Through Jesus, through His death on the cross, and His resurrection, we are overcomers and victorious. You are alive and free. No longer is your past weighing you down, but those shackles are now broken. No longer are you dead in your sin, but you are made righteous by the blood of the lamb. Now you are heirs to Christ and children of the living God. Amen!

Do you see yourself in this way, or are you living as though nothing has changed? If not, then you need to grow closer to God. To live this victorious life, you need to grow closer to God. Spend time in prayer, make Christ the most important part of your life. Read the word of God and meditate on it day and night. James 4:8 says “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”

Through the cross, everything has changed. We need to grab hold on to this truth and grow close to Christ. By doing so, we will be fruitful, effective and productive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:5-8 says “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

To grow in the Lord and in your gifting, you must have the qualities mentioned in 2 Peter 1:5-8 and not only that, you must increase in them every day. When you look at life through the cross, you fall in love with Jesus Christ. When you love the Lord with all your heart and soul and mind, then you want to obey His commandments and to please Him in all you do. By doing so, you will supplement your faith and as you do, your roots will go deep and your foundation will be upon the rock which is Christ. Nothing will move you.

Friends make every effort to supplement your faith. Take the next step to mature in Christ. Supplement your faith with the qualities given to us in the word. Grow nearer to God. If you have all of these qualities, then they will keep you from being ineffective and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. When you do these things, then your whole perspective will change. You will realise that the cross has changed everything and live the victorious life of being in Christ, redeemed and set free. Hallelujah!

Today as we partake of the bread that represents the body of Christ and the juice that represents the blood, shed for our sin. Let us remember that the cross has changed everything. From today walk in the victory of the cross, no matter what your situation is. Do not let your situation determine your view of life; instead, let the cross decide the victorious life you now have in Christ Jesus. Amen.

God bless.
